Windows failed to apply the Group Policy


“Windows failed to apply the Group Policy Local Users and Groups settings. Group Policy Local Users and Groups settings might have its own log file. Please click on the “More information” link.”

Event ID: 1085.


1. Save the contents of folder %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Group Policy\History to another location.
2. Delete all files and folders in the History folder.
3. Delete the following registry hives:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\History
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\History
4. Open Command Prompt and type gpupdate/force.
